With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Lubbock community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Richard Paul, 61, whose life ended following a fatal shooting late Wednesday night.
According to the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit, officers with the Lubbock Police Department responded to the 5000 block of 38th Street at approximately 11:08 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Richard Paul suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the response of emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation was then turned over to the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit.
Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the shooting. Investigators continue to work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify the person responsible.
As the investigation remains active, Crime Line is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification or arrest of the suspect.
