Family, friends, and members of the New Iberia community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Cade Thielen, 26, who died following a tragic pedestrian crash on Interstate 20 East near the Pines Road exit in Shreveport.
According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, Thielen was identified as the victim of the fatal crash that happened Thursday evening, July 16, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Preliminary information indicates that Thielen entered traffic on I-20 East near the Pines Road exit and was struck by an 18-wheeler. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but he was sadly pronounced deceased.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed that Thielen was positively identified through fingerprint comparison. An autopsy has been ordered as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
