Family, friends, and members of the Hallettsville and West Columbia, Texas communities are mourning the heartbreaking and tragic loss of 57-year-old Tonja Brozozowski Potts and 81-year-old Patricia Jan Brozozowski, who both lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision Sunday afternoon in Lake Jackson.
According to authorities, the tragic crash happened along State Highway 332 near County Road 680 when a black Chevrolet Tahoe traveling eastbound reportedly crossed into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with the silver Chrysler Pacifica carrying the victims. The violent impact claimed the lives of both women at the scene, leaving loved ones devastated by the sudden and unimaginable tragedy.
Tonja Potts, a resident of Hallettsville, was driving the Chrysler at the time of the crash, while Patricia Jan Brozozowski of West Columbia was traveling as a passenger. Authorities confirmed both women suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Also inside the vehicle was a 9-year-old child who survived the collision but suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
