Family, friends, classmates, and members of the rural Orland community are mourning the heartbreaking and sudden loss of Febie Booher, 17, who passed away following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road 327 and County Road 350 North in Jackson Township.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred early Tuesday morning, June 16, 2026, when emergency crews were dispatched after reports of a serious collision involving an unconscious driver. First responders from the Orland Fire Department and Steuben County EMS arrived at the scene and found Febie unresponsive inside her vehicle. Despite immediate and extensive life-saving efforts by rescue personnel, she was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities reported that the crash took place when Febie’s vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound pickup truck. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, and emergency crews worked urgently to provide medical care under difficult circumstances.
