Family Honors Cierra Alexis After Her Organs Save Two Lives

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee — A woman critically injured in a shooting at MJ’s Sports Bar & Grill on Northwest Broadway Street has died from her injuries, according to authorities.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning, June 13, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit said officers responded to reports of gunfire at the establishment and later located the victim at a nearby muffler shop suffering from severe gunshot wounds.

She was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment and had been listed in extremely critical condition following the shooting. Authorities have since confirmed that she succumbed to her injuries.

The victim has been identified as Cierra Alexis.

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the case. The individual is currently being held in a Nashville jail and faces three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Following the victim’s death, charges may be reviewed or updated as the investigation continues.

Investigators have not yet released details regarding what led to the shooting or a possible motive. Detectives continue to collect evidence and interview witnesses as they work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
