Authorities with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Mallory died following the incident, which unfolded late Wednesday evening at the Summit Ridge Apartments located on Haversham Drive. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Center Point Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the location shortly after 9 p.m. following a 911 call reporting a shooting. The caller stated that the victim had been shot in the neck. Emergency responders arrived quickly and immediately attempted to provide aid; however, despite their efforts, Mallory succumbed to his injuries at approximately 9:19 p.m.
Investigators confirmed that the shooting occurred in the 100 block of Haversham Drive within the apartment complex.
