Family, friends, and members of the Lovely, community are mourning the tragic loss of Kaitlyn Delong, 20, of Lovely, who died following a devastating two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on U.S. 23 in Lowmansville, Kentucky.
According to Kentucky State Police, the crash occurred around 7:35 a.m. when a southbound Kia Sorento, driven by 22-year-old Johnathan Haney, crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes, where it collided with a semi tractor-trailer. Authorities say Delong was a passenger in the vehicle and was ejected during the impact. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but despite their efforts, Delong could not be saved. Officials confirmed that the driver of the semi tractor-trailer was not injured, while Haney was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition.
News of Kaitlyn’s passing has left her family and friends in deep grief, as they remember a young woman whose life was taken far too soon.
