25-Year-Old Woman Dies in Route 3 Crash; Five Others Hospitalized

A 25-year-old woman was killed and five members of a family were hospitalized following a serious head-on crash Friday night on Route 3 in Columbia, New Hampshire, according to officials.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 9 p.m. and discovered two heavily damaged vehicles involved in the collision. Investigators determined that a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound while a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro was heading northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the Camaro crossed the centerline and struck the Silverado head-on.

Authorities identified the driver and sole occupant of the Camaro as Courtney Diamond, 25, of Pelham. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Silverado was occupied by a family of five. All occupants were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officials said two sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while three others suffered life-threatening injuries.

Several Good Samaritans stopped immediately after the crash to assist those involved before emergency responders arrived.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Colebrook Police and Fire Departments, New Hampshire Fish and Game, Pittsburg Police Department, Stratford Fire Department, and 45th Parallel EMS.

Route 3 remained closed for approximately three and a half hours while investigators processed the scene and cleared the wreckage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not released additional details at this time.
