A 30-year-old Sandusky man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Milan Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. on River Road at the intersection with State Route 113. Preliminary findings indicate that a Lincoln MKC was traveling southbound on River Road when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign at State Route 113.
Authorities identified the driver as Jacob A. Lehrer, 30, of Sandusky. Investigators say Lehrer’s vehicle continued through the intersection, left the roadway, struck a ravine, and overturned.
During the crash, Lehrer was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Sandusky Post responded to the crash and were assisted by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Milan Township Fire Department, North Central EMS, the Erie County Coroner’s Office, and Central Automotive.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
