In Loving Memory of Karyn Lupo Stratton

Family members, friends, and members of the Marcellus community are mourning the tragic loss of Karyn Lupo Stratton, 55, who died following a two-vehicle motorcycle crash Sunday morning in Onondaga County, New York. 

According to investigators, the collision occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. at the intersection of Slate Hill Road and U.S. Route 20 in the Town of Marcellus. Authorities said a northbound vehicle stopped at the intersection before attempting to enter U.S. Route 20 but failed to yield the right-of-way to an eastbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle was carrying Karyn Lupo Stratton and her husband, Bruce Stratton, a well-known New York motocross champion. The impact caused both riders to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Emergency responders transported the couple to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Despite medical efforts, Karyn Stratton later succumbed to the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Bruce Stratton, 55, remained hospitalized with injuries described by authorities as non-life-threatening. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Bruce Stratton is widely recognized throughout New York’s motocross community, having earned numerous championships and accolades during his racing career.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Karyn Stratton’s death has left loved ones grieving as the community comes together to support her family during this difficult time.
