Man Shot Before Crashing Into Tree in Henrico County, Authorities Say

A 20-year-old man has died following a shooting that ended in a vehicle crash in Henrico County late Wednesday night, according to police.

Henrico County Police Division officers were called at approximately 11:10 p.m. on June 24 to the 300 block of Kingsridge Parkway after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.

When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle that had struck a tree. Inside the vehicle, police located a 20-year-old man who had suffered a gunshot wound.

Authorities said the victim, identified as Curtis Whitted Jr. of Henrico, was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.

Police have not yet released information about a possible suspect or motive in the shooting. The circumstances leading up to the gunfire and the crash remain under active investigation.

Detectives with the Henrico County Police Division are continuing to gather evidence and are asking anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.

No additional details have been released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
