In Loving Memory of Charles Kountz II

Family members, friends, and members of the Youngsville community are mourning with deep sorrow and heavy hearts following the tragic loss of 51-year-old Charles Kountz II, who was killed in a deadly hit-and-run early Wednesday morning in Lafayette Parish.

According to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the area of Marteau Road near Whispering Meadows Road, east of Youngsville, around 3 a.m. on June 24. When deputies arrived, they discovered a man lying in the roadway who had suffered fatal injuries.

Authorities identified the victim as Charles Kountz II. Investigators determined he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling southbound, which fled the scene after the collision.

Deputies said Kountz was pronounced deceased at the scene. His sudden and tragic passing has left family and friends devastated, as they struggle to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.
