In Loving Memory of Bruno Delmar Young

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and the community are mourning the loss of 16-year-old Bruno Delmar Young, whose life was tragically cut short on June 25, 2026, in Winnipeg.

On that day, Winnipeg Police Service officers responded to the 1700 block of Wellington Avenue after receiving a wellbeing report. When officers arrived, they located a deceased male youth in a parking lot. He had sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bruno was later identified as a member of Bloodvein River First Nation who had been living in Winnipeg. His sudden passing has left his family and community in deep shock and grief as they struggle to process the loss of a young life gone far too soon.

The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Later that same day, two 17-year-olds—a male and a female—were arrested in connection with the incident and charged with Second Degree Murder. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.

Bruno is remembered as a young life filled with promise and potential, with dreams and a future that will never be fully realized. Those who knew him hold onto memories of his presence, his youth, and the moments shared with him.

His passing has left a painful void in the lives of his loved ones, who continue to lean on one another for support during this difficult time.
