Alexis Edmunds Killed in Roanoke Shooting; Man Charged with First-Degree Murder

A woman is dead and a man is in custody following a shooting in Roanoke, Virginia, after an argument escalated into violence Saturday night, according to police.

Roanoke Police said officers responded at approximately 11:19 p.m. on June 27 to the 2900 block of Bluestone Avenue NE for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult woman deceased at the scene and a man inside the residence.

Investigators determined that an argument between the man and the woman escalated, leading to gunfire.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Alexis Edmunds of Roanoke. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested 23-year-old Tiajae Silas Paige of Roanoke and charged him with first-degree murder.
