With profound sadness, the Wichita community is mourning the loss of James Glover Jr. 53, of Wichita, whose life was tragically lost in a semi-truck crash on Saturday morning in Pratt County, Kansas.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:22 a.m. on U.S. Highway 54 when Glover was traveling eastbound in a semi-truck. For reasons still under investigation, his vehicle crossed the center line and entered the path of an oncoming westbound semi-truck.
Investigators reported that the driver of the westbound truck attempted to take evasive action in an effort to avoid a collision, but was unable to prevent the impact. Glover was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the westbound semi-truck was able to steer into the north ditch during the incident and did not sustain any injuries.
