BATON ROUGE, La. — A 22-year-old man has died following a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Baton Rouge, authorities said.
The victim was identified by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office as Qwaviez Hamilton, 22.
According to officials, police received a report of gunfire at approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, in the area of Florida Boulevard near Marilyn Drive. When officers arrived, they found that a male victim had been shot.
Despite the circumstances surrounding the incident, Hamilton did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead following the shooting.
