Mississippi Family of Three Killed in Tragic Tractor-Trailer Crash on Interstate 59

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. — A Mississippi family is mourning the heartbreaking loss of three loved ones who were killed Tuesday morning in a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 59 near Trussville.

The victims were identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as 32-year-old Dominque Mariona Butler, her 29-year-old husband, Dquarious Marqua Butler, and their 5-year-old daughter, Nailani Butler. The family was from Liberty, Mississippi.

According to authorities, the three family members were among six immediate family members traveling inside a tractor-trailer when it collided with another tractor-trailer on Interstate 59 North near mile marker 138 at approximately 7:12 a.m.

Officials said Dominque Butler and her young daughter, Nailani, were pronounced dead at the scene at 7:31 a.m. Dquarious Butler was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later died from his injuries at approximately 9:19 a.m.

The devastating crash has left relatives and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss as they grieve the deaths of a mother, father, and their young daughter. The family’s lives were tragically cut short in a moment that has brought deep sorrow to those who knew and loved them.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Troopers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and working to determine what led to the collision.
