Family, friends, and members of the Lima community are mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Alexandra Hover, 26, who passed away following a devastating motorcycle crash Friday evening in Auglaize County.
According to investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 33 and Ohio State Route 65. Authorities said a Volkswagen SUV, driven by 69-year-old Raymond Jacquet of Florida, was traveling north on State Route 65 when it attempted to make a left turn onto U.S. 33 and entered directly into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcycle was carrying Alexandra Hover as a passenger, along with 22-year-old Khaled Haque of Lima, who was operating the bike. Investigators said the SUV’s turn placed it directly in the motorcycle’s path, resulting in a violent and unavoidable collision.
The impact threw Alexandra from the motorcycle, causing catastrophic injuries. Despite rapid response from emergency personnel, she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed that she did not survive the force of the crash.
The motorcycle operator, Khaled Haque, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment. The SUV driver, Raymond Jacquet, also suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger inside the SUV was not injured in the crash. Authorities noted that all involved were wearing seatbelts or helmets where applicable, and the incident remains under active investigation.
