Two Children Witness Parents Killed in Devastating State Road 350 Crash; Father Remembered as Dedicated Milan Summer Baseball Coach

A tragic two-vehicle crash on State Road 350 in Dearborn County on Friday evening claimed the lives of a Ripley County couple and left their two young children injured, according to officials.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m., when a westbound 2006 Ford F-150 driven by 46-year-old Steven Witte of Moores Hill, Indiana, crossed the centerline for reasons still under investigation. Investigators with the Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team said the pickup entered the path of an eastbound 2017 GMC Terrain driven by 33-year-old Jordan Walters of Milan, Indiana, resulting in a violent head-on collision in the eastbound lane.

Following the impact, Witte’s vehicle spun and came to rest in the roadway, while the GMC Terrain left the south side of the road and went down an embankment.

Authorities confirmed that Steven Witte sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Cincinnati-area hospital for treatment. Tragically, Jordan Walters and his wife, 33-year-old Sierra Walters, both suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office.

The couple’s two small children, who were seated in the back seat, were also injured in the crash and transported to area hospitals for medical care. The extent of their injuries has not been publicly released.

Officials said the family has been notified, and the investigation remains ongoing. Toxicology results are still pending as authorities work to determine the circumstances that led to the deadly collision.

State Road 350 was closed for nearly four hours as investigators processed the scene and crews cleared the wreckage.
