Fair Bluff Community Mourns After Mother and Daughter Killed in Hinson’s Crossroads Collision

A tragic two-vehicle crash at Hinson’s Crossroads in Columbus County, North Carolina, on Friday morning, July 10, 2026, claimed the lives of a Fair Bluff woman and her young daughter.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Amanda Green, 29, and her daughter, Arabella Powell, 11, died after their vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by another vehicle at the intersection of Rough and Ready Road and Hinson’s Crossroads Church Road.

Authorities said Patricia Ann Jackson of Fayetteville failed to stop at a stop sign before her 2022 Toyota collided with Green’s vehicle.

Amanda Green of Fair Bluff and her daughter Arabella Powell suffered fatal injuries in the crash and were pronounced deceased.

Officials said an adult female and two juveniles inside Jackson’s vehicle sustained minor injuries. Jackson was airlifted for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Jackson was later charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, and reckless driving.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances that led to the deadly collision.

The loss of Amanda Green and Arabella Powell has deeply affected their loved ones and the Fair Bluff community, who are remembering their lives and the memories they shared.
