Family, friends, and the Fair Bluff community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Amanda Green, 29, and her daughter, Arabella Powell, 11, who were killed in a tragic side-impact crash at Hinson’s Crossroads in Columbus County, North Carolina.
According to authorities, the crash happened Friday morning at the intersection of Rough and Ready Road and Hinson’s Crossroads Church Road. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said Amanda Green and her daughter were traveling in their vehicle when it was struck on the driver’s side by another vehicle.
Sgt. Mark Gore of the Highway Patrol said Patricia Ann Jackson of Fayetteville failed to stop at a stop sign before her 2022 Toyota collided with Green’s vehicle.
Amanda Green of Fair Bluff and her 11-year-old daughter, Arabella Powell, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities said an adult female and two juveniles who were inside Jackson’s vehicle suffered minor injuries. Jackson was airlifted for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the crash, Jackson was charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, and reckless driving.
The investigation into the collision remains ongoing as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances that led to the deadly crash.
