Two Killed in Sunday Night Motorcycle Crash on Rural Roadway Near Rhodes, Iowa

A tragic motorcycle crash in Rhodes, Iowa, claimed the lives of two people Sunday night, leaving family, friends, and the community mourning their unexpected loss.

The victims have been identified as 31-year-old Brandon Overman and 27-year-old Chandler Kendall. According to authorities, Overman was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kendall was transported by air ambulance to a Des Moines hospital, where she later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on 295th Street shortly before 9:15 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found Overman several yards away from the motorcycle and off the roadway. A search of the surrounding area was conducted, and deputies later located Kendall, who was found unresponsive.

Emergency responders provided medical care at the scene before Kendall was flown to a hospital in Des Moines for treatment. Despite medical efforts, she later died from the injuries she suffered in the wreck.

The Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office are leading the investigation into the crash. Officials have not yet released information regarding the cause of the collision or what factors may have contributed to the tragedy.
