Diamond Y. Jenkins Found Dead Inside Tent in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Authorities have identified a 28-year-old woman who was found dead inside a tent in Allentown on Tuesday, July 14.

The victim was identified as Diamond Y. Jenkins, a New York native who later made Allentown, Pennsylvania, her home.

According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of West Union Street after she was discovered deceased inside a tent. Authorities said she was believed to have been experiencing homelessness at the time of her death.

An autopsy was completed Wednesday at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center. Officials said the cause and manner of Jenkins’ death remain pending the results of microscopic and toxicological testing.

The Allentown Police Department and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death. At this time, authorities said there is no evidence indicating suspicious activity or foul play.

Jenkins attended Liberty High School and Lehigh Carbon Community College, according to information shared on her social media. She will be remembered by those who knew her as family, friends, and loved ones continue to process the heartbreaking loss.
