A husband and wife from Ewing were killed Thursday evening in a head-on crash in Mason County, according to Kentucky State Police.
The victims have been identified as William J. Szymanski, 80, and Kathlene M. Szymanski, 76, both of Ewing, Kentucky.
According to investigators, the crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on KY 11. State police said an 81-year-old Maysville man, Roger Jolly, was traveling southbound in a Honda Accord when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Honda CRV occupied by the Szymanskis.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but William and Kathlene Szymanski sadly died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Roger Jolly was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized, according to Kentucky State Police.
The tragic loss of William and Kathlene has left their family, friends, and members of the Ewing community mourning the loss of a beloved husband and wife. Those who knew the couple are remembering the lives they shared together and the lasting impact they had on those around them.
