Two Children Found Dead, Mother Critically Injured in Obion County Home Tragedy

A heartbreaking tragedy has left the Kenton, Tennessee community in shock after two children were found dead and their mother, Jessie Quarles, was critically injured in what authorities are investigating as an apparent double homicide in Obion County.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, investigators were called in Saturday after officers responded to a home on Jan Lynn Street, where they discovered 1-year-old Landrie Harris and 11-year-old McKenna Young dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Authorities said the children’s mother, Jessie Quarles, was also found inside the home suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency responders rushed her to Regional One Health in Memphis, where she remains in critical condition as doctors continue treating her injuries.

Investigators have not announced any arrests and have not identified a suspect as the investigation remains ongoing. Officials are continuing to work to determine what led to the horrific violence inside the home.

Kenton Mayor Danny Jowers described the incident as a devastating and horrific event, saying first responders were confronted with a scene they will never forget. The tragedy has left family members, friends, and the entire community mourning the loss of two innocent young lives.
