ATTALA COUNTY, Miss. — A 60-year-old propane truck driver lost his life in a tragic multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Attala County.
According to Attala County Coroner Sam Bell, Kevin Gant, of the Singleton community, was pronounced deceased at the scene after suffering fatal injuries in the collision.
The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 19 South and Highway 14 East and involved a propane truck, an 18-wheeler, and a passenger vehicle.
Emergency crews from the Attala County Fire Department, Attala County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and EMS responded to the scene. Authorities said the propane truck overturned during the crash, prompting concerns about a possible propane leak as first responders worked to secure the area.
Officials reported that the drivers of the passenger vehicle and the 18-wheeler were able to exit their vehicles and speak with emergency responders. No additional serious injuries have been announced.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation as authorities continue working to determine what led to the deadly collision.
