LINCOLN, Neb. — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered Thursday morning in a storm drain near Antelope Creek in Lincoln.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, the body was found around 8:50 a.m. in a storm drain near Billy Wolff Trail, south of N Street. Officers with the Lincoln Police Department and crews from Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the scene after the discovery.
Emergency crews worked to recover the body from the water, while investigators with the Lincoln Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit began looking into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Authorities have not released the identity of the person found. An autopsy was scheduled to help determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the Lincoln Police Department said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
