With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Conroe community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of George Ramirez, 19, whose life ended following a tragic vehicle crash Thursday evening.
According to the Conroe Police Department, officers responded shortly after 6:30 p.m. to the 200 block of North Loop 336 East after receiving reports of a crash involving a passenger car and a pickup truck.
When officers arrived, they found George Ramirez, who was a passenger in the car, trapped inside the vehicle with serious injuries. The Conroe Fire Department and EMS crews quickly arrived and began providing medical care, but despite their efforts, Ramirez was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said the preliminary investigation by the Conroe Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit determined that the car was traveling westbound on North Loop 336 East when the driver lost control while attempting to change lanes. Investigators said the vehicle began to spin and skidded into oncoming traffic lanes, where it was struck by a pickup truck.
The drivers of both vehicles, along with the passenger of the pickup truck, were transported to a local hospital for treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities said next of kin notification was completed, and Ramirez’s immediate family members were notified at their residence in Cut and Shoot, Texas. The District Attorney’s Vehicular Crimes Unit responded to assist with the on-scene investigation.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash.
