Family, friends, colleagues, and members of the Pepper Pike, Ohio, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Cameron Duvall, 29, a Firefighter/Paramedic with the North Randall Fire Department, whose life ended following a tragic three-vehicle crash early Saturday morning on Fairmount Boulevard near Brainard Road.
According to the Pepper Pike Police Department, officers and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 2:48 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles. When emergency crews arrived, they found three vehicles involved in the collision and immediately began rendering aid to the victims.
Authorities said an adult man and woman were located between two of the vehicles with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Cameron Duvall succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The woman was transported by the Pepper Pike Fire Department to a nearby hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators determined that the tragic chain of events began when one vehicle became disabled after suffering a flat tire. The driver remained at the scene while calling for roadside assistance. Cameron and a woman arrived to offer help, parking in front of the disabled vehicle. As they were assisting near the trunk area, a third motorist struck them and the disabled vehicle, resulting in the devastating collision.
Police arrested the driver of the third vehicle following the crash. The individual is facing multiple charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue working to determine all the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Cameron’s sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, fellow first responders, and the countless people whose lives he touched through his dedication and service. As a Firefighter/Paramedic with the North Randall Fire Department, he devoted his career to helping others during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. His commitment to protecting his community and caring for those in need earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and everyone who knew him.
