With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Montgomery, Alabama, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Valerie J. Granville, 65; Vensen E. Granville, 39; and Willie J. Gholston, 69, whose lives ended in a tragic head-on crash on Interstate 65 in Chilton County, Alabama.
According to authorities, the devastating crash happened around 11:03 a.m. Monday on Interstate 65, about two miles south of Verbena. Alabama State Troopers said Valerie Granville was driving a GMC Envoy when the vehicle crossed the median and collided head-on with a GMC Sierra pickup truck.
The impact caused debris from the crash to strike another vehicle, a Nissan Sentra. Despite emergency responders’ efforts, Valerie Granville, Vensen Granville, and Willie Gholston were pronounced dead at the scene.
The sudden loss of three beloved family members has left their loved ones devastated and searching for strength during an unimaginable time. They were more than names connected to a tragic accident — they were cherished family members whose lives brought love, memories, and meaning to those around them.
