A 28-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash Tuesday night in South Kingstown, according to authorities.
Police identified the victim as Michael D. Fletcher.
Officers with the South Kingstown Police Department were called to Route 1 North in the area of Torrey Road at approximately 10:15 p.m. after reports of a crash.
Investigators said no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Preliminary findings show that Fletcher lost control of his motorcycle just south of the Tower Hill Fire Station.
Authorities believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Emergency responders arrived on scene and provided assistance, but Fletcher was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police say the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation as they work to determine the events leading up to the incident.
