It is with profound sadness that family, friends, fellow officers, and members of the Mundelein community mourn the tragic and untimely passing of Officer Paul Viduya Jr., who lost his life in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.
According to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, Officer Viduya was found in the grass along Charles Miller Road near McHenry Avenue around 3:30 a.m. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. An autopsy later confirmed his cause of death as blunt force injuries, while toxicology results remain pending.
Authorities confirmed that Officer Viduya was off duty at the time of the crash and that his motorcycle was the only vehicle involved. The incident remains under active investigation by the Mundelein Police Department.
His sudden passing has left an overwhelming sense of grief among those who knew and served alongside him. Officer Viduya is remembered as a dedicated public servant who committed his life to protecting and serving his community.
