Two Found Dead in East Alabama Woods After Report of Vehicle in Roadway

Authorities in east Alabama are investigating after two people were found dead in a wooded area following a report of a vehicle blocking a roadway, according to officials.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed Friday that the victims have been identified as Jessica Folds, 47, of Lanett, and Daniel Robbins, 44, of Macon, Georgia.

According to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday to the 1000 block of County Road 86 after receiving a report of a vehicle parked in the roadway.

When deputies arrived, they discovered the two individuals in a nearby wooded area. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Their bodies were later transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where an autopsy will be conducted. Officials have not yet released the cause or manner of death.

Authorities said the investigation is being led by the State Bureau of Investigation, and no further details have been released at this time as officials continue to gather evidence and determine what led to the deaths.

Capt. Jeremy Burkett with ALEA confirmed the ongoing investigation and said more information will be released when available.

Law enforcement is urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist investigators. Tips can be reported to the State Bureau of Investigation or the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.

The discovery has left the local community shaken as officials work to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident in rural east Alabama.
