Hot Springs Couple Killed in Tragic Stabbing; Grandson Charged With Capital Murder

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — A 73-year-old woman and her 75-year-old husband have died following a tragic stabbing incident Tuesday evening at a residence on Idlewood Street, according to the Hot Springs Police Department.

Authorities said officers responded around 7:58 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, to a disturbance call at 106 Idlewood Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Evelyn Parker, 73, who appeared to have suffered multiple stab wounds.

Officers were informed that her husband, Thedrit Parker, 75, was deceased inside the residence and that their grandson, Terrance Parker, 21, had allegedly attacked both victims with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Police entered the residence and located Thedrit Parker unresponsive with multiple knife wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Evelyn Parker was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The Hot Springs Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation as detectives worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly attack.

At approximately 8:21 p.m., officers located Terrance Parker at Regions Bank on Malvern Avenue and took him into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Hot Springs Police Department for processing.

Terrance Parker has been charged with two counts of capital murder and was transported to the Garland County Detention Center.

The tragic deaths of Evelyn and Thedrit Parker have left family members, friends, and the Hot Springs community grieving as they remember the lives of two people lost in a heartbreaking act of violence. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue gathering information surrounding the incident.
