Inez Pryor, 39, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a crash involving an electric bicycle and a van Wednesday morning in the Queensborough area of Shreveport, Louisiana.
On July 8, 2026, Shreveport Police officers responded to the intersection of Lillian Street and Alabama Avenue after receiving reports of a major crash involving an e-bike and a van.
When officers arrived, they found a damaged e-bike and two riders, a man and a woman, lying in the roadway with serious injuries. A white 2004 Chevrolet Express van involved in the crash remained at the scene.
The Shreveport Fire Department transported both victims to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment. The female passenger, identified as Inez Pryor, later died from her injuries. The male e-bike rider was last reported to be in critical condition.
The Shreveport Police Crash Investigation Unit responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
According to preliminary findings, the Chevrolet Express was traveling eastbound on Lillian Street and stopped at the stop sign at Alabama Avenue. The driver told investigators that he entered the intersection and was then struck near the driver’s side rear tire area by the southbound e-bike.
Witnesses reported that the man and woman were traveling south on Alabama Avenue when the van entered their path. Police said witness statements were consistent with the sequence of events described by the van driver.
Investigators also determined that neither e-bike rider was wearing a helmet or other safety equipment, and police said the e-bike was not equipped with lights or reflectors.
The driver of the van remained at the scene and voluntarily submitted to a blood draw at Ochsner LSU Health. The sample will be analyzed by the Northwest Louisiana Crime Lab as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office took custody of Inez Pryor following the crash.
No citations were issued at the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities said all findings released at this time are preliminary and could change as additional information becomes available.
Inez Pryor’s death has left family, friends, and members of the Shreveport community mourning the tragic loss of a life taken too soon.
