A heartbreaking loss has left family, friends, and members of the Raleigh community grieving after Chandler Hodge, 35, died following a tragic multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning.
The collision happened around 2:36 a.m. on July 17, 2026, at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Trawick Road, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
Authorities said a preliminary investigation found that a tow truck driven by 39-year-old Allan Guerrero of Raleigh was traveling south on Capital Boulevard when it allegedly ran a red light while making a left turn onto Trawick Road. The vehicle then entered the path of oncoming traffic and struck two motorcycles and a sedan.
Chandler Hodge, one of the motorcyclists involved in the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Guerrero, another motorcyclist, and two occupants of the sedan were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Following the crash, Guerrero was arrested and faces multiple charges, including aggravated felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury by vehicle, driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, and other related offenses. Additional charges were also filed during the investigation.
As authorities continue working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision, the Raleigh community is coming together to remember Chandler and support those who loved him.
