North Macon Tragedy: Three Lives Lost Following Suspected Chemical Exposure

Three people were found dead inside a North Macon home Friday night in what authorities believe may have been a fatal chemical exposure incident, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Emergency responders were called to a residence on North Springs Court at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of an emergency. When officials arrived, they discovered three individuals deceased inside the home.

Coroner Leon Jones identified the victims as Kimberly McDaniel, 57, Danny Bass, 47, and William Daniel, 59.

Authorities said they believe the three victims died because of a chemical present inside the residence. Due to the potential hazard, a hazardous materials (hazmat) response was requested to allow investigators to safely enter the home and properly examine the scene while protecting emergency personnel.

Animal control units also responded to the residence as part of the ongoing response. According to reports from the scene, a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputy said dogs were inside the home when authorities arrived.

Officials have not released additional information about the type of chemical involved or the circumstances that led to the deaths. Investigators are continuing to work to determine what happened inside the residence.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to gather more details surrounding the deaths of the three individuals.
