Man Fatally Shot While Attempting to Stop Domestic Dispute in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. — The Jackson Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 64-year-old man on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

According to police, officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of Collier Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Emanuel Lee, 64, deceased on the front porch of the residence.

Investigators said Lee was shot while attempting to break up a domestic dispute between two individuals at the home. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or whether any arrests have been made.

The investigation remains active and ongoing as detectives work to determine exactly what led to the deadly incident.
