According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a work-related death at approximately 11:22 a.m. on Monday, July 14, at 4250 Overseas Highway in Marathon. When authorities arrived, they found Cano Franco involved in a serious industrial accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the accident occurred at a facility where rocks are processed and crushed into smaller pieces for industrial use. Authorities determined that Cano Franco appeared to have been struck by a front-end loader during the incident.
