James Snyder, 28, of Millerstown, Pennsylvania, died following a fatal motorcycle crash in Spring Township, Perry County, on Sunday evening.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened around 8:10 p.m. in the 1700 block of Shermans Valley Road.
Troopers said Snyder was traveling eastbound on Shermans Valley Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle then left the road and traveled along an embankment before returning to the roadway.
Police said the motorcycle struck another vehicle traveling westbound. The driver of the second vehicle swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision with the motorcycle.
Following the crash, both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane. Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the second vehicle was transported to a hospital for additional medical evaluation.
The crash remains under investigation as Pennsylvania State Police continue working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
