According to the Bentonville Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:54 a.m. on June 11, 2026, after receiving a request to conduct a welfare check at the residence. When officers arrived and entered the home, they discovered two individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators later determined that 22-year-old Jaden Colby Howard shot and killed his mother, Jennifer L. Howard, before taking his own life. Authorities have classified the case as an apparent murder-suicide, and confirmed that no other individuals are believed to have been involved.
