Family members, friends, and members of the Marietta community are grieving the tragic loss of Anthony Stoy-Velazquez, 26, whose life came to an end following a suspected homicide on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Columbia Borough, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
In the early morning hours, emergency crews were called to the intersection of North Third Street and Linden Street after receiving reports of an injured person. When officers arrived, they discovered Anthony in the 200 block of Linden Street suffering from an apparent stab wound to his chest.
Authorities said police immediately began life-saving efforts in an attempt to help Anthony, and emergency medical personnel continued those efforts after arriving at the scene. Despite the dedication and quick response of first responders, Anthony could not be saved and was pronounced deceased.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office identified Anthony Stoy-Velazquez, 26, of Marietta, Pennsylvania, as the victim. His body was taken to the Lancaster County Forensic Center for further examination as investigators continue working to understand the circumstances surrounding his death. An autopsy has been scheduled as part of the ongoing investigation.
