Jordan King Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting of 11-Year-Old Columbus Boy

An arrest has been made in connection with the fatal shooting of an 11-year-old boy in Columbus, Georgia, according to Muscogee County Jail records.

Jail records show that 17-year-old Jordan King was booked into the Muscogee County Jail at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026. He is charged with murder, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, and possession of a pistol or revolver by a person under 18 years old (first offense).

According to investigators, the charges stem from a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, July 8, at approximately 10:08 p.m. in the 800 block of Apex Road, just off River Road in Columbus.

Columbus police officers and emergency responders rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found 11-year-old K’Harris suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan pronounced him dead at 10:49 p.m.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or a possible motive. The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses.
