A 36-year-old Woodbridge man has died following a tragic motorcycle crash Saturday night on Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge, Virginia.
Authorities identified the victim as Michael Layne Hall, who was operating a 2014 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle eastbound on Old Bridge Road near Colby Drive at approximately 10:53 p.m. when the crash occurred.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, Hall failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, causing the motorcycle to cross the median before striking a traffic sign and a guardrail.
Prince William County Police Sgt. Erin Noble said Hall was transported to a local hospital after the crash, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor in the collision.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about what happened to contact authorities.
