According to a fatal crash report from the Arkansas State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. near a cul-de-sac off Don Tyson Parkway.
Investigators said Marcus was sitting inside her parked vehicle when a Kia Optima traveling eastbound on Don Tyson struck an embankment, became airborne, and crashed into her vehicle. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to overturn.
Marcus sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Authorities confirmed she died as a result of the collision.
A passenger inside Marcus’ vehicle was injured and received medical treatment. The driver of the Kia Optima and two passengers, including two minors, were also injured. Officials have not released the conditions of those involved.
The Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
